Three stakeholder engagement sessions were held involving representatives from both the industry and the government sectors to chart the growth path for the logistics industry.
The stakeholders addressed persistent issues and challenges faced by the sector, as well as new ones in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Also discussed were inputs on anticipated transformation needed to affect strategic changes in the industry. The session with Sabah and Sarawak stakeholders included participation from the Sabah Freight Forwarders and Logistics Association together with representatives from Ministry and the industry. They highlighted the need to harmonise Federal and State policies to ensure smooth operations. It was also recognised that there was a need for a platform for the private sector or industry players to collectively voice out the industry’s challenges, concerns and recommendations.
