The webinar series ‘Road to Recovery’ on the topic “Role of Standards for Smart Cities Development” was moderated by Kamarul Ariff Omar from MIGHT with panelists from PLAN Malaysia, Department of Standards Malaysia (DOSM), Malaysia Communication & Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and Malaysia Smart Cities Alliance Pro-Tem Member (Regulatory, Policies & Standards). The panellists explored the need for and roles of standards in smart city development and understanding the common interest between the public and private sector.

The Malaysian Urban Forum 2020 brought together representatives from ministries, municipals, industries, agencies and academia and addresses the importance of stakeholder participation and partnerships towards achieving sustainable development. This was highlighted in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 16 and 17 as well as the New Urban Agenda. MIGHT was represented by Dr. Raslan Ahmad, Senior Vice President as one of the professional panelists in the high-level dialogue of Malaysian Urban Forum 2020. The three-day programme received a coverage of 125,662 online viewers, 500 physical and 8,808 virtual presences from MUF2020 delegates, dignitaries, stakeholders, global partners, sponsors and participants from around the globe.
