EMPHASIS ON WELLNESS IN A NEW REALITY

The year 2020 saw extensive adoption of new working norms. Acknowledging the changes and the psychological andemotional impact, theMIGHT continued toprovideprogrammes that supports psychological well-being. Awareness sessions as well as small group talks were held, comprising various activities. This is an avenue to keep staff members connected as well as to educate on the challenges faced, and adapting to the new norm, while maintaining a positive attitude and mental health. • A talk on “New Normal in Ramadhan and Syawal” by Tuan Mohd Elyas bin Ismail was conducted online on 24 April 2020 for the holy months of Ramadhan and Syawal. The speaker highlighted the significance of Ramadhan as the month for self-analysis, disciplining souls and moral behaviour. • A counselling session was conducted on 6th May 2020 via webex by Dr. Azmawaty Mohamad Nor from University of Malaya on the topic ‘Psychological Well-being: Coping with the New Normal’ . The Counselor emphasised that the pandemic has had a major impact on our lives, and can elicit strong emotions in adults and children. She also highlighted the cause and consequences of stress and how to overcome it positively. 1 2
