MIGHT-UNDP CAPABILITY BUILDING IN FORESIGHT AND FUTURES THINKING 21 May 2020, via online MIGHT convened an online webinar to share with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Malaysian experience in building its foresight capacity. Facilitated by MIGHT’s Principal Analyst, Dr. Tan Shu Ying, the webinar focused on introducing foresight and futures thinking and their potential applications into the daily work of researchers at the UNDP. Points of deliberation included ideas on the possible applications of foresight in identifying subnational and biodiversity actors to be integrated into UNDP’s themes and service lines. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT FOR MUNICIPALITIES ON PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP (PPP) TOWARDS DEVELOPMENT OF SMART CITIES July 2020, via online MIGHT in collaboration with Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), Training Institute of Housing and Local Government (I-KPKT) and The World Bank organised “Leadership Training For Municipalities on Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) Towards Development of Smart Cities (E-Training)” which is aligned with the GEF6 Project Output of Capacity Building. This is part of MIGHT’s mandate to promote and facilitate the understanding of PPPs. The sessions included 90 senior officials from selected municipalities (PBTs) in Malaysia. At the end of the training, participants were expected to gain beneficial knowledge which includes: • Application and adoption of innovative method of PPP from around the world. a

• Assessment on PPP readiness and reformation required through the Municipal PPP Readiness Tool. • Assessment on individual projects readiness for PPP through the application of the Municipal PPP Project Readiness Tool. c b
