you know you can study all those and never do anything about your soul or heart or life. I knew a man who studied pathology. That’s the study of diseased tissues in the body and he was wonderful at it. One day he was half-cocked because John Barleycorn and he were intimate friends. He was sitting out front of the medical college and as I went by I said, “Professor I’m sorry to see you wasting your life on John Barleycorn. You’re such a fine professor and know your work so well. I’m proud of you. I’m glad I’m study ing under you.” And he said, “Listen I’m going to study this subject until I’m the best informed man in the United States at my own price.” I said, “Professor I hope you do but I hope you don’t die trying to get it.” He was about 25 years old. That was in April. Do you know that in Septem ber that dear fellow, with all the brains that he had and he had them too, died of delirium tremens in the woodshed. You see when the Lord says what doest thou here professor, and he says, “I’m studying and getting drunk, satis fying the lusts of my heart and body, that’s what I’m doing.” Then there are others who become great scientists and become great adventurers, like Mr. Edison. He discovered the wonderful thing of electric lights. And Bell who invented the telephone. I was in his home and saw the wonderful things he started out with. That dear man gave himself to studying this that that’s a blessing to everybody, and other great men — scientists, architects, builders, doctors and surgeons. But what doest thou here? Now you’re trying to be come rich. "Well the first million is al ways the hardest to get and have you got it yet? Have you been trying for 35, 40, 50 years to get it and never got it yet? Well what are you doing here? Are you making any preparation for being a blessing to others? Are you studying to know all that is possi ble about God so that you may live a life to His glory and a blessing to those who chance to cross your path in your journey across the pages of such time as you are granted here! MOVING COSTS EVERYONE
If you have just moved, or are planning to do so, you know all that is involved. But did you realize that your move can also cost the Lord's work? IT you have moved and have not as yet informed us, from now on it will cost Biola 8 cents (rather than 4) in order to have the post office give us the in formation concerning your new address. If yOU use a post card, or the forms provided by the post office, this will mean a sub stantial savings for the work of the Lord. With a quarter of the population moving every year, according to statistics, you can well imagine what this will ulti mately mean for Biola. Thank you for your prayer ful help in this, as well as in our other ministries for the Lord Jesus Christ.
could be when I was ten or eleven years old trying to make skeltons down in the cellar out of these bones that I would find somewhere beside the road. I wouldn’t know whether it was a cow bone or a dog bone but I tried to fix them up so that I’d know. Well I was so busy with bones and one day I met the Saviour and I got acquainted with the One who made bones and made them fit. You remem ber in the book of Ezekiel when Israel is compared to raw bones it says they come together bone to his bone. Well that’s the only way they can come. They’ve got to fit and our Lord gives you ,a chance of studying bones — also of studying the One who made bones. Now you might like mathematics. My how interesting it is studying mathematics and alegbra and geo metry, trigonometry, and calculus. But
