The next subject is thoughts which are “just.” Today, we might use the word, “fair.” How many men today, and perhaps you are one of them rid ing along the highway listening to the radio with one ear and at the same time thinking, “How can I make a good deal, how can I make a little more money?” Now, there’s nothing wrong with a man advancing his position in life, just as long as it is not done at the expense of another. A sense of fair ness has seemed, in this age of a “dog eat dog ’ philosophy, to be a sign of weakness, not what it really is, a mark of true character and uprightness. Yet, when those who draw wa ter from it come at low tide, they have always found that there is no salt to be tasted, the cool water is always fresh and pure. The reason is that the well is fed from streams which flow from the upper hills. And how this should be like our lives.
