Superintendent - General Construction Director

Position Statement The General Superintendent is responsible for all early site preparatory works including construction of the site compound, steel fabrication yard and polymer plant as well as managing ongoing job site access requirements and local earth works as required by the Piling Superintendents. The Superintendent is responsible for the safe and successful defects free completion of all site activities, within their area of responsibility, in accordance with the program to meet the specified quality within the budget parameters as set by the Project Director. Job Purpose • Safety, Environmental and Sustainability: Lead by example, promoting Project and Group best practice. • Culture: Teamwork, seek advice when in doubt, contribute to team dynamics, willingly provide • Assistance and guidance in area of skill / knowledge when needed. • Expertise: Provide successful management of the site Team and of all Project construction activities using agreed systems to ensure successful operational and process management. • Efficiency: Participate in Continual Process Improvement (LEAN) to improve efficiency in area of work contributing to the overall efficiency of the Project Execution Plan. Duties and Responsibilities • Establishes and maintains a harmonious Employer relationship to assist project delivery and enhances Employer satisfaction without compromising Keller’s position - Contractually and financially. • Acts on all matters affecting the safety, quality, progress and cost of the works. • Hands-on leader, tenacious and able to work independently and remotely with available resource. • Develops and maintains open communication with employees on site, working in collaboration with the Piling Superintendents. • Knows and understands all specifications and drawings, ensuring correct work sequences and completion of works for each sequence. • Provides input for the preparation and input of the short-, medium- and long-term planning and programming of the works in consultation with project staff to ensure that resources are adequate to achieve construction program milestones. • Ability to demonstrate strong leadership, especially in the area of encouraging problem-solving with staff. Qualifications and Experience • In-country experience essential.
