A black, wall hung toilet is a thoroughly modern ele- ment, but works in the elegant space. “It’s the first time I’ve used black fixtures in a bath but it really works here, and the Memoirs collection is brand- new and so chic,” says McLeod. Adding contrasting elements helps to lighten the design. Against a black wall, white fixtures shine. Against white walls with traditional moldings, a modern light fixture acts as a focal point. Touches of color, such as gold, navy, and celadon add ele- gant contrast. ■
