Dear Cattlemen & Friends, Welcome to our 12th Annual Production Sale. We especially want to thank our return customers for your loyalty and our new customers for your interest in our program. We are pleased to offer an excellent set of bulls and heifers and look forward to assisting you in selecting your next herd sire or foundation female. Sale barn prices are still reflecting the incredible value of this area’s cattle and we are always happy to hear from our customers about their Homestake Ranch sired calves and their successes. Once again, all heifers have been pelvic measured and confirmed open. Bulls will be semen tested after the sale as we prefer to take the bulls home so we can semen test every bull before delivery and fully guarantee fertility and performance. This gives us the opportunity to deliver your cattle at a later date and allows us to have plenty of time to visit your operation. Our cattle are always bred with the commercial cattleman’s profitability in mind and they must thrive in real-world situations – nothing is spoiled or pampered here. Though we observe EPD’s as a useful tool, they are never the sole
determining factor for our breeding decisions. We focus on performance and maternal genetics as we know the importance of producing muscle, eye appeal, and fleshiness. And, remember, any heifers purchased on the sale can return to our ranch and be AI’d to any bull in our tank and later delivered to you at no extra charge. Let us breed them for you! If the buyer prefers, we will take heifers home, AI them to any bull in our tank (some exceptions) or with semen provided by the buyer, and deliver them by May 1
Every heifer purchased by a junior member will receive $50 if they send a picture of it being exhibited at their County Achievement Day, Spotlight or State Fair.
