CANAM 2024 is just around the corner.
Happy New Year The November Mixer was held on the 18th. There were 48 players that played on 5 courts. Wins were tracked, and winners were proclaimed and rewarded. The Wimbledon theme, complete with lunch on the lawn, was a hit. Thanks to Debi Vodvarka and the Tennis Committee for putting on the Mixer this month. Fun Fact: Wimbledon is the longest running tennis tournament. It started in 1877.
2023 Tennis Teams The December Fritters and Fun was held on the 2nd. This month's game was Team Tennis. It was a beautiful morning, and games moved quickly. With the rotation of the teams and the courts, players all got to play against each other at some point. Following play everyone went into La Palma for the apple fritters. The monthly General Tennis Meeting was held there. Court Maintenance Coordinator Brian Goltz reminded us of the importance of locking the satellite courts when we leave. This is especially true on B and F, where the ball machines are.
Come join us in January for the next Mixer which will be hosted by Kim and Bud Krahn.
50/50 was played, and Helen Glennie took the money home.
A drawing was held and 6 players got their $6 entry fee back.
Brian “ Sparky ” Farrell resumed his tennis drills, on Wednesday at 10:00 on court B. So much to learn or be reminded of, from beginner to advanced. Internal Leagues start this month and include Mixed Doubles, Team Tennis, Women's Top Gun, and Men's Top Gun. Sign ups close January 3. Email tennisorps@gmail.com for more info.
