R- intention to settle more prominently than at most recent start in Cox plate. May have come to end of prep. FLEM 11/11/2023 COT: more forward. Settled in a handy position. CAUL 14/10/2023 COT - more forward. Settled outside the leader. FLEM 17/02/2024 Rider reported that , rounding the home turn, lost ground due to the heavy going. He said that his mount did not respond to his riding in the straight and when out of contention he desisted from riding it out from the 200m. A post- race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame (2/5) in off-hind leg. Co-trainer was advised that a veterinary clearance will be required prior to being permitted to race or barrier trial. V/C received. Since trialed at RHILL 01/03. K GR 25/11/2023 Performed below market expectations. Over raced in early stages having to be restrained off heels near 1400m as a result. Rider reported his mount may have come to the end of its preparation. Post race vet - no abs. CAUL 18/11/2023

When Q Rider Ex gelding has a tendency to be slow to begin he urged his mount to try hold his pos and if possible an on pace pos behind rnr. Added when the horses to his inside held their pos he elected to stride fwd and take the lead rather then be caught wide without cover. Added travelled well however did not quicken as expected but fought on well. Trainer ex instruction to be ridden where comfortable, Expressed disappointment that Rider appeared to ride with intent from the start resulted in being further fwd and wide. Added best ridden with cover. lost the near fore plate. FLEM 17/02/2024

Race 8 Matron Stakes 1600M Rebel Rama
Began only fairly & from a wide barrier was shifted behind rnrs in early stages. RAND27/01/2024 COT: intention to be more forward. Began only fairly. Settled outside the leader. CAUL 10/02/2024 Began awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. Laid in under pressure in the straight and proved difficult to ride out. FLEM 17/02/2024 Rider reported that his mount travelled well, however did not run on as well as expected. He added that the mare returned to scale in a normal manner. Co-trainer said he was moderately disappointed with the performance, adding that the mare may not have appreciated the travel interstate between runs and further may not appreciate racing inside other runners. Follow up. M V 27/01/2024 Raced keenly through the early stages. Approaching the 1400m when racing keenly was steadied off heels. Rider reported the mare raced keenly and as a result failed to run on. A post race vet revealed no significant findings. CAUL 24/02/2024 From the outside barrier was shifted behind runners in the early stages. Held up rounding the home turn and near the 350m, when improving between runners, made contact. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight and near the 200m was directed outwards to improve. CANT 23/02/2024 COT: To settle further forward; settled outside lead. Raced keenly in early stages & after being crossed by another rnr near 1000m, continued to race keenly for a short distance when being shifted to outside of heels. CANT 02/02/2024 Held up for clear running from the 500m until shifting in approaching the 200m to gain clear running. Held up over the latter stages when racing close to the heels of Revolutionary Miss. When Q if there was an opportunity to take up running to the inside of Revolutionary Miss over the concluding stages, R explained, after being held up from the 150m he was unaware that a run had presented to inside of Revolutionary Miss inside the final 50m. After viewing the Stewards’ patrol video Rider concurred with the Stewards’ assessment that there was an opportunity to improve inside. FLEM 17/02/2024 Held up for clear running from the 500m until passing the 300m. Held up for clear running for a short distance approaching and passing the 300m and then raced tightly. FLEM 13/01/2024
