The Cradle Coast Celebrates Excellence In Tourism JOHN DABNER TAA TASMANIA PRESIDENT
Recently, I attended the Cradle Coast Tourism Awards Night in Burnie celebrating Excellence in Tourism for the North West – West Coast and King Island regions. The event was welcomed by the operators with some 150 people on attendance and recognising success in 14 award categories. I was honoured to represent the THA at this event presenting the category of Casual Dining / Cafes which was won by Matthew Waller - Pier 01 in Ulverstone. The THA thanked the Cradle Coast Regional Tourism body for the opportunity to be involved with the event - showing the synergies of tourism and hospitality as a whole industry. It also has shown the importance of delivering excellence in customer service with the “Great Customer Experience Program” and meeting consumer’s expectations within our industry. It is great to see that a regional tourism body gives its operators the opportunity to be recognised as leaders in the Cradle Coast Region and an insight to the State Tourism Awards process if they wish to proceed into the State Awards.
