Approval of Fiscal Year 2027 Athletic Budget Motion 26-35: Mr. Nellams moved that the Board of Trustees of Central Washington University hereby approves the athletic budget of $7,925, 291 for fiscal year 2027 as presented. Ms. Jenkins seconded the motion. The motion was approved. Approval of Fiscal Years 2026-2029 Services and Activities Quadrennial Budget Motion 26-36: Ms. Jenkins moved that the Board of Trustees of Central Washington University hereby approves the Services and Activities Fee budget for the three years remaining in the 2026- 2029 quadrennium. Mr. Nellams seconded the motion. The motion was approved. Approval of Faculty Code Revisions Chair Hensler noted that there has been a lot of work on shared governance over the last four years. He added that at last year’s Board Retreat, Faculty Senate was asked to come back with the integration of the Faculty Code with the shared governance document in October. Unfortunately, that did not happen. The BOT AAC and the FSEC have committed a lot of their time to working together on this process, so Chair Hensler applauded the group for their efforts. For the approval of the Faculty Code, Chair Hensler suggested that the board consider looking at the six items that the Faculty Senate have suggested for amendments and review/vote on them separately to provide clarity on each one. Board members agreed to this process. Motion 26-37: Mr. Nellams moved that the Board of Trustees of Central Washington University endorses the recommendation of item one, Modify Faculty Code Section IV, EC Members Complaint Process on this day July 17, 2026. Ms. Jenkins seconded the motion. The motion was approved. Motion 26-38: Mr. Nellams moved that the Board of Trustees of Central Washington University endorses the recommendation of item two, Revise Faculty Code Section IV, to allow four NTT senators, on this day July 17, 2026. Ms. Jenkins seconded the motion. The motion was approved. Chair Hensler noted that items one and two are fully approved. He clarified that they were approved as interim last year. Motion 26-39: Mr. Nellams moved that the Board of Trustees of Central Washington University endorses the recommendation of item three Recommend approved revisions to Appendix B: Distinguished Faculty Awards in the Faculty Code, on this day July 17, 2026. Ms. Jenkins seconded the motion. The motion was approved. The remaining Faculty Code items did not receive a motion or second for a BOT vote: • Four/Revise Faculty Code IV on assigned time and WLU for Senate activities. • Five/Revise Faculty Code Preamble, Section II, and Appendix C on College Budget Committees • Six/Clerical changes The Board recognized the work of Faculty Senate and the time spent on these updates. However, the Board would like more clarity on how other constituents in the shared governance realm are involved in providing feedback in the process and would like more connections to the shared governance document. We all still have some learning to do, so the board would like the university community to do this learning together.
