about the problem this last-minute policy intended to solve and what the actual rules are for faculty. Faculty continue to be given conflicting rules from different sources. These rules disproportionately impact international faculty who are more likely to travel abroad and faculty who conduct international research. They also seem to be applied to faculty differently than other university employees. This issue illustrates current challenges with transparency and efficiency in the CWU administration. After four months of asking questions, we should have received clarifying information and an acknowledgement from the administration of the harm caused, yet we continue to face uncertainty.
Conclusion
While we continue to hold serious concerns about the direction of the institution and the lack of meaningful response to the issues raised last year, our commitment to CWU remains strong. As faculty, we are proud to be Wildcats and deeply invested in the long- term strength and sustainability of this university, the success and well-being of our students, and the community we have built together. Even when we feel discouraged or unheard, we remain committed to showing up, engaging in shared governance, and working together to move CWU forward in productive and meaningful ways. We believe in this university, its people, and its future, and that belief is precisely why this work matters so deeply to us.
Sincerely,
The Faculty Senate Executive Committee
