"And Yet No Sign Appears" ROBABLY more Christians are praying today for a revival than at any other time in the history of the Church, AND
an old-time revival? "NO SIGN" YET? Is not the world's darkness a sign? No, says the paper first quoted above, for "while this down-grade movement continues with– in, we need not look for an outpouring of God's Spirit." Ah, but that's the time when we do need to look for it– when the enemy has come in like a flood-in, among God's people! It is at such. times that God answers the importunate cry ol His faithful rem– nant. "NO SIGN"? "No sign" when thou– sands in all parts of the world are pleading with God? "No sign" when on every continent the advance mercy drops ol coming revival are beginning simultaneously to !all? "No sign" when even the world's far-seeing political and economic leaders warn ol impend– ing doom except God shall stay the hand of destruction? "No sign" when spiritual men everywhere are calling the Church to intercession, and when one of the most discerning of these has just declared: "Everywhere there is a hush of ex– pectation, as if God were about to come forth from His place to execute an Im– portant work Every evidence points to the need of a fresh enduement of power on the part of the Church and the possibility of a mighty outpouring of the Spirit, as of the latter rain,
l.'ET NO SIGN APPEARS," exclaims a reputable church paper. "NO SIGN APPEARS?" "And yet"– "More Christians praying! "-Isn't this a sign? Ome Christian praying Is a sign. But what when multitudes pray? "NO SIGN APPEARS"? Does faith require "a sign"? Nevertheless the faith God gives is a sign! Yea, more; it is "the substance ol things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen!" "NO SIGN APPEARS"? "No sign" when in one commun– ity in Arkansas a thousand people meet each morning for prayer until God drenches the country far around with
