THE KING'S BUSINESS

then as today, who did not believe in Jesus, and they did not want others to believe in Him, so they told Stephen he must not preach any more about Jesus. Now Stephen loved Jesus, and so he kept right on preaching, for he knew it was right to please God rather than these wicked men. The men be– came very angry and called a number together to see what they might do with Stephen. Now Stephen's heart was so full of love for Jesus, and his face so bright and happy, it looked like an angel's face as these wicked· men look– ed at him. These men paid other wick– ed men to come and tell things about Stephen that were not true. Then Stephen told them the wonderful story of how God loved and cared for his people, and he told them how other wicked men like themselves had killed God's prophets. These men became so angry, they picked up stones and threw them at Stephen. Now Stephen looked up Into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God. As they were stoning him, he prayed and asked God to for– give these wicked men. Then he asked God to receive his spirit, and then his body fell asleep, and his spirit went home to Jesus. And God was with Stephen. Stephen was not afraid to show his love for Jesus, even though It cost him his life. How are we show– ing our love for Jesus, In the home, at school, or wherever we may be? Closing Prayer.

Of course he was too little to reach up, so he pushed a chair in front of the sink and was washing the dishes. The mother told me he begged her to let him do It. He said he loved mother and wanted to help her. Wasn't that a beautiful way to show his love? Prayer. Lesson Story.-Last week we heard about two friends of Jesus, and how they showed their love by opening the home to Him. Today we are to hear about a man named Stephen. Oh, It Is such an Interesting story, and I know every one of you will want to be like Stephen. There was great love in Ste– phen's heart for Jesus, for he knew It was Jesus that had saved him from his sins and would give him a home in heaven. Stephen was not like so many Christians today, who are glad they are saved and have a home in heaven, but are not going out after the other people who do not know Jesus. Stephen went about telling others of Jesus and his power to for– give sins, and save people. There were many wicked people in the world
