THE KING'S BUSINESS

"He gave himself for us." He had power to lay His life down, and :;>ower to take it again. V. 11. "The cup which the Father hath given Me, shall I not drink it?" John and James said they could drink His cup, and be baptized with His bap– tism, but they did not know what they said; but Jesus knew, and said, "How am I straightened till It be accom– plished!" Martyrs have given their lives for Him with joy, but what J esus gave was more than mortal man can tell. His Father turned His face away fpom our sins which He bore. It was a death of dea.ths the moment His Father forsook Him, and yet, knowing wbat was com– ing, He drank the cup to the dregs. Ev– ery thought of His divine self-sacrifice for us, makes Judas' treason deeper and blacker. If. THE JUNIORS JESUS' LOVE FOR BIS l\IOTBER John 19:20-37 Review: Where did we leave Jesus in our last lesson? (v. 18) Who else was crucified at the same time? (v. 18) What words were written on Jesus' cross? (v. 19) What Is the name of the place where He was crucified? (Calvary) Who can tell the story of the cross? Why did God allow wicked men to crucify J esus? (Jno. 3:17) What did J esus come to this world for? What Is sin? Who are sinners? Is tel ling a lie sin? Is there any boy or girl here who never told a lie? How can boys and girls be saved? (John 1:12; 5:24) Lesson: We are to look at the cross again to– day and see J esus hanging there, bleed-

Ing and dying. He Is God's Lamb, you know. John 1:29. What did the soldiers do with the clothes of J esus ? (v. 23, 24) What does it mean when It says, "that the Scriptures (the Bible) must be fulfilled, (must come true)?" What did the Bible say about His garments? (Psa. 22:18). Who stood by the cross while Jesus hung there? (v. 25) Did Jesus see His mother? Who was the disciple that stood there? (John) Did His mother have any home? (No) Did He ask John to be a son to her? (Yes) Did John take her to his home? (Yes) Isn't it strange that Jesus had no home here when He left a heavenly home for us, and that He had to ask John to care for His mother? (Mat. 8: 20) Wouldn't you have liked to have taken care of His mother? Won't It be wonderful to see Him some day In His home which He is preparing for us? How many of you expect to live In His home? Are you sure you have a right to live there? Give us a verse to prove It. l\femory Verses: "When Jesus therefore saw his mo– ther, and the disciple standing by whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!" "Then saith he to the disciple, Be– hold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home." John 19:26, 27. :I) Ii
