THE KING'S BUSINESS

LIGHTHOUSE IN A DARK CITY San Francisco is a great pagan city and it Is like looking tor a needle 1n a haystack in this city, to locate a place where the true Gospel Is preach– ed. We are glad to give place to the following announcement, and trust It may influence some In San Francisco to rally about this new Gospel center: "The City Tabernacle, 1065 Market Street, San Francisco, has recently been Incorporated with a similar doctrinal statement to that of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, and is a distinctively aggressive, down-town Gospel and Bl– ble-te!tchlng testimony, Interdenomina– tional, co-operating with evangelical churches of the city. The City Taber– nacle is open nightly in the heart of the great city of San Francisco, con– ducting Bible classes, personal workers class, Sunday school training class and Gospel meetings. A daily street meet– ing is held between 12: 00 and 1: 00 o'clock on the corner of Third and Stev– enson Streets every week day. A street meeting Is also conducted at Seventh and Market Streets, Saturday and Sunday nights. Personal workers class have representatives of almost all or the evangelistic churches or the city. Dr. W. E. Sherman teaches the Chris– tian Fundamental class every Monday night. The prayers of God's people are especially requested for San Francisco, which is nationally known as one of the hardest places for the Gospel In the entire United States. Bible teachers, evangelists and others who have a bur– den for San Francisco, and are passing through, should get Into communica– tion with W. E. Pletsch, Director, 1065 Market Street." HOSTIUTY TO CHRIST LESSENING The editor of the Biblical Review thinks "there is evidence that Jewish hostility to Christ Is lessening. Doubt– less the spirit of free inquiry that char– acterizes the age Is encouraging among Hebrews that habit of original study which makes for the open mind and the sincere desire to assess things rightly. Christian knowledge would doubtless gain much from a widespread, sympa– thetic study of Christ's life and words on the part of Intelligent Jews."
