En plus de desservir une clientèle au détail, RONA Matériaux Pont-Masson se spécialise dans le service aux entrepreneurs généraux et spécialisés, dans les secteurs résidentiel et commercial. Les autocons- tructeurs représentent également un seg- ment important de sa clientèle. L’équipe, qui mise sur un service flexible, précis et rapide, connaît les enjeux liés aux chan- tiers de construction, et par conséquent, son mandat est d’aider les entrepreneurs à rentabiliser leurs projets. En plus de ses cinq magasins et de ses quelque 275 employés, Matériaux Pont- Masson est également constituée de trois divisions : Matériaux Design, une salle d’ex- position de finition intérieure et extérieure pour lamaison, Arctic Supplies, une division d’exportation dans le Grand Nord, ainsi que Structure du Nord, une usine de fabrication de fermes de toit.
Après Valleyfield, Rigaud, Mirabel et Alfred, l’entreprise familialeMatériaux Pont-Mas- son a récemment inauguré sa cinquième succursale à Casselman. En effet, depuis le 13 mai dernier, le nouveau personnel accueille les clients et répond à leurs besoins enmatière de quin- caillerie, de rénovations ou de construction de tout genre. Lors de l’ouverture officielle, lemercredi 21 juin, plusieurs dignitaires et entrepre- neurs de la région étaient présents pour célébrer le nouveau magasin affilié RONA chez Lowe’s Canada. « On est heureux de participer, avec la famille Bailey, à l’économie locale, avec la création de plus de 25 emplois et avec plus de 6 M$ d’investissement ici par la famille Bailey », a déclaré Philippe Element, vice- président divisionnaire, ventes et services aux marchands affiliés RONA chez Lowe’s Canada. « RONAMatériaux Pont-Masson contri- buera au bien-être économique de notre région, avec ses deux magasins dans Pres- cott-Russell », a souligné le député provin- cial de Glengarry, Prescott et Russell Grant Crack, qui était également présent à l’ouver- ture officielle de la succursale d’Alfred, il y a deux ans. « Avant que ces gens-là arrivent, on avait un magasin qui n’allait pas trop bien. Le problème était l’inventaire », a confié le maire Conrad Lamadeleine, en se disant confiant du succès de l’entreprise. Il ne faut pas oublier que Casselman dessert 20muni- cipalités, alors c’est une place où il va y avoir beaucoup d’avenir. » Matériaux Pont-Masson a été fondée en 1979 par Richard Bailey, père des copro- priétaires actuels, Éric et Stéphane Bailey. L’entreprise s’est jointe à la famille RONA en 1996. Richard Bailey œuvre encore au sein de l’entreprise à titre de conseiller à la direction générale. « Pour nous, c’est un choix logique de venir s’établir dans la région », a expliqué Julie Boucher, directrice des opérations. On avait beaucoup de clients qu’on desservait déjà dans la région d’Ottawa à partir d’Alfred et on savait qu’il y avait déjà de la main- d’œuvre qualifiée. » À l’instar des quatre autres magasins,

Prescott-Russell’s paramedics and the Tril- liumGift of Life Network are joining forces on a unique pilot project in Ontario, to both promote awareness of organ trans- plant donation and increase the supply of potential organs for transplant. The focus of the pilot project for now is on increasing the number of corneas available for corneal transplants for people with severe vision handicaps. The program is similar to those in operation in several American states and in Canada, in the province of Nova Scotia. The pilot project falls under the author- ity of the coroner’s office, which serves as a liaison between the Trillium Gift of Life Network (TGLN) and the regional paramed- ics department of the United Counties of Prescott-Russell.
