It is with great pleasure that Chairman of the Board Roland Sanchez-Medina, Esq., and I write this message to present our Winter/Spring 2024 edition of the Latino Business Review. The past few months have been wonderful for the organization as we showcase here all the events that transpired in the last quarter. We are delighted to highlight the Viva Miami Lunch Conference featuring speakers such as Beacon Council President Rodrick Miller, hospitality expert Rolando Aedo, COO of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Professor Ariel Armony, Vice Chancellor for Global Affairs of Pittsburg University, alongside a panel discussion moderated by recognized banker Felipe Basulto, President of TD Bank and immediate past chair of the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Following that event was teatime with Lily Lopez, where we featured Representative Alex Rizo. This was an amazing event with 60 women engaging in discussions and participating in a warm ambiance at the Biltmore. The Breast Cancer Conference Lunch followed, with the presence of United States Senator Rick Scott addressing our members. The event was presented by USylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the panel comprised top doctors in the industry, including a breast cancer survivor. Then, we moved on to the Annual Sunshine Awards where over 500 people gathered at the Biltmore Hotel to celebrate the top companies in Miami-Dade County. In December, the Women Empowering and Embracing Women Awards Luncheon took place with guest speaker Dr. Jennifer McCafferty-Fernandez Senior Vice President of External Affairs and Chief of Staff from Nicklaus Children's Hospital, who was a proud sponsor. Last but not least, our annual Christmas lunch at Jaguar Restaurant in the Grove, presented by Amazon, saw participation from everyone bringing a toy, which were then given to underprivileged children of Centro Mater. Over 1000 toys were presented later on December 21st.
