BishopWinnington-Ingram CofE Primary School Belief In God, Our Children and Their Future

Welcome Tucked away from the high street, next to the River Pinn, Bishop Winnington Ingram Primary School is your village school in the heart of a busy town. At our school, we know every child by their name and we embed our Christian values in every step of their learning. We strive to become a part of your family and recognise the vital importance of a supportive, high quality environment where your child has the opportunity to reach their potential.

We would be delighted to invite you to arrange a visit to our school to show you our commitment, energy and creativity to help drive Bishop Winnington Ingram further forward in becoming your outstanding school of choice for your child. “A wonderful Christian community school: the village school of Ruislip where every child is known, valued and nurtured. This is a school where every child and adult is part of a caring family” Parent quote

Our Curriculum We provide our students with a curriculum that is exciting, creative and exploratory. We promote hands-on experiences to ignite curiosity in the world around them; develop ideas and concepts that give them a voice and increase the skills and knowledge to enable them to be the best that they can be.

We value all our children as individuals who have the potential to develop into lifelong learners and responsible, self-confident citizens. We want to prepare them for life beyond primary school and we ensure that their spiritual, cultural, moral, mental and physical development will allow all children in our care to understand and celebrate diversity, identity and unity. “BWI is an amazing school. My twins spent 7 happy years there. The school is like a family and the staff are very experienced. They create a caring environment, but challenge for the children. My two are now flourishing after a great foundation at BWI. They never once didn’t want to go to school, which speaks volumes.” Parent quote

Our learning doesn’t just take place in the classroom. As well as taking advantage of the River Pinn on our doorstep for river dipping and environmental studies, we also take our children out to explore the local woods and lido. We also have our own outdoor learning area for children to grow their own vegetables, dig for minibeasts and get close-up and hands-on with nature!

Our Faith Through our Christian values: Compassion; Thankfulness; Endurance; Humility; Trust and Peace , our children are supported and nurtured on their learning journey in a positive environment where every child feels included in the learning. As a Church of England school, we aim to be a Christian community where everyone can develop an understanding and tolerance of others. The spiritual, social, cultural and moral welfare of our children is of prime concern to us and our Christian values are at the heart of every decision we make in the care of our children. Our daily act of Collective Worship is a special time that brings together members of the school community to worship God. Worship

is led by teachers, children and local Christian leaders. Every year we have class assemblies, celebrations and special services in the church and families are always invited to share these with us. Groups of children are encouraged to prepare and lead worship based on one of our themes. These opportunities allow them to gain valuable leadership experience and extend their ability to think, reflect and develop their faith. “Excellent learning environment. Care and com- mitment towards the students is first class. Both of my children have loved being part of this school community. If you're looking for your child to be nurtured and encouraged to reach their full potential - this is the school for you” Parent quote

“A fantastic school that has nurtured our children from nursery to juniors, with excellent teachers along the way. The strong Christian and community-centred ethos has worked with us to develop our children into well-rounded, independent little people. Most importantly, they have never wanted to miss a day of school.” Parent quote
