Les résidents de Clarence-Rockland pourront profiter d’expériences cinéma en plein air au mois d’aout grâce à une entente entre la Ville et une entreprise montréalaise. «Dans les moments que nous vivons, nous aurions besoin d’un peu plus de divertissement», a déclaré le maire Guy Desjardins lors d’un entretien téléphonique après la séance extraordinaire du conseil du 21 juillet. Le conseil a approuvé un accord avec Cinéparc Horizon, une entreprise montréa- laise qui offre «un cinéma itinérant de style rétro» aux quartiers des secteurs nord et est de Montréal. La société étend ses activités à l’extérieur de la ville et l’une des étapes de son itinéraire est désormais Clarence-Rockland. L’accord avec Cinéparc Horizon s’inscrit dans le prolongement du plan initial de la ville, qui prévoyait d’organiser deux «soirées cinéma» à Rockland pendant l’été pour offrir une occasion de divertissement familial dans le contexte actuel de pandémie. Il y aura maintenant six soirées de cinéma à Rockland, soit les 7, 8, 11, 14, 15 et 17 aout, avec Cinéparc Horizon qui utilisera le stationnement arrière de l’aréna de Cla- rence-Rockland sur le chemin de comté 17. L’entente entre la Cité et Cinéparc Horizon
L’aréna de Clarence-Rockland accueille les Nationals de Rockland et les Voyageurs de la CIHA pendant la saison hivernale de hockey. En août, le stationnement de l’aréna sera temporairement le site de soirées cinéma en plein air. —archives
prévoit que l’entreprise paie à la municipalité un droit de location pour l’utilisation du sta- tionnement et fournisse à la Cité une preuve de couverture d’assurance responsabilité civile pour l’évènement. L’entreprise est également chargée de fournir un plan du site pour la soirée cinéma prévue, de respecter les normes de sécurité liées à la pandémie pendant l’évènement et de nettoyer le site par la suite. La Cité fournira un employé municipal sur place pour aider Cinéparc Horizon à
superviser l’évènement et à s’assurer que les directives de sécurité en matière de santé publique soient respectées. La Cité fournira également deux toilettes portatives et une station de lavage ou de désinfection des mains pour l’évènement, ainsi que des poubelles, des barricades et tout autre équi- pement nécessaire disponible. Cinéparc Horizon prévoit également apporter l’expérience du cinéma en plein air dans la zone rurale de Clarence-Rockland. Le conseil municipal a approuvé une exemption
de 120 jours pour l’utilisation du terrain situé au 2005 rue Laval à Bourget, où la société prévoit organiser une soirée cinéma pour les résidents ruraux. Les deux cinéparcs sont des activités FTUJWBMFTUFNQPSBJSFT/ÊBONPJOT , le maire Desjardins a indiqué que la Cité serait inté- ressée à poursuivre l’expérience à l’automne si elle s’avérait populaire auprès des rési- dents et rentable pour la compagnie. «Tout dépendra des intentions de la compagnie», a-t-il déclaré.

Plusieurs régions ont opté pour le port du masque à l’intérieur des établissements et là où toute distanciation de deux mètres n’est pas possible. Bien que la région de l’Est ontarien ne compte que peu de cas positifs, cette décision en est une de précau- tion. Plusieurs raisons motivent et justifient cette exigence. En voici quelques-unes: Selon les statistiques démographiques
de 2016, la région de l’Est ontarien (les Comtés unis de Prescott et Russell, la Ville de Cornwall et les Comtés unis de Stormont, Dundas et Glengarry) comptait 202,762 habitants. En date du 16 juillet, il y avait 22,557 tests de COVID-19 complétés. Supposons que chaque test appartient à une personne différente, on peut possi- blement conclure que 180,205 personnes demeurent non testées. Sachant que des gens atteints de la COVID-19 peuvent être asymptomatiques et ne pas le savoir; le fait de se promener en communauté peut mener à une augmentation de cas positifs. Puisque nous sommes en phase 3, plus de commerces et services sont maintenant ouverts et dans certaines situations ou certains endroits, la distanciation sociale peut être plus difficile. Nous ne vivons pas en vase clos et il existe un va-et-vient entre régions. Des gens de l’extérieur de la région de l’Est ontarien viennent dans notre région pour visiter ou pour faire des emplettes puisque nous comp- tons moins de cas positifs de COVID-19 et ils s’y sentent plus en sécurité. De même, nous allons vers les plus grands centres urbains pour des achats ou parce que certaines activités récréatives sont plus nombreuses et variées dans les autres régions (bars, cinéma, musées, centres d’achats…).
Effectivement, le port du masque peut être inconfortable et un inconvénient à notre routine quotidienne. Il déplait à plusieurs, et certains citent leur droit de décider de le porter ou pas, mais ne prennent pas en considération le droit des autres à ne pas être infecté. Si nous ne voulons pas retourner à la phase 1, nous devons prendre les précautions pour demeurer en santé tout en évitant de contaminer les autres. En respectant les exigences, nous conti- nuerons de progresser vers une ouverture totale et nous serons dans une meilleure position pour aider les gens qui sont isolés, les gens qui sont aux prises avec des pro- blèmes de dépendance et des problèmes de santé mentale. Un retour en phase 1 ne ferait que nous rendre tous plus vulnérables. Nous avons tous besoin de soutien. Si vous voyez des gens de votre entourage qui éprouvent des difficultés quelconques, offrez- leur votre soutien en leur téléphonant, en les visitant ou en les aidant à communiquer avec des agences pouvant leur offrir des services ou une écoute accrue. Nous avons tous une part de responsabilité à jouer pour vaincre cette pandémie et briser l’isolement.
La COVID-19 fait plusieurs ravages humains ainsi qu’économiques partout dans le monde. Tous les jours, nous en apprenons toujours un peu plus sur ce virus et ce que nous savons c’est qu’il ne faut pas le prendre à la légère. La décision de fermer ou de rouvrir des régions, des commerces, des services ne repose pas sur une personne, mais sur des discussions entre experts des différentes régions et du gouvernement provincial. Personne n’aime voir les entreprises fermer, des employés

La Municipalité de La Nation désire faire la vaporisation des mauvaises herbes le long des trottoirs aux bords des chemins urbains. Tous les trottoirs seront inspectés dans les villages de Limoges, St-Albert, St-Isidore et Fournier afin de déterminer si l’utilisation de pesticides est requise ou si les mauvaises herbes peuvent être contrôlées d’une façon physique. La vaporisation se fera du 10 au 14 août 2020. Le pesticide utilisé sera le suivant : Factor 540 herbicide liquide (PCP # 27988), ingrédient actif : Glyphosate, présent comme sel de potassium. The Nation Municipality intends to control weeds along the sidewalks in all urban locations. All sidewalks in the villages of Limoges, St-Albert, St-Isidore and Fournier will be inspected to determine if pesticides are required or if weeds can be controlled physically. The spraying will begin on August 10th and will end on August 14 The pesticide that will be used is : Factor 540 Liquid Herbicide (PCP # 27988), active ingredient : Glyphosate, present as potassium salt.
