Cheyney Croquet Club at Ringmer has recently completed a project which Croquet England helped to fund with a generous grant. The Club’s very old storage unit was no longer fit for purpose and without new units, the Club would not have been able to con7nue. It was also possible to site the new facili7es much closer to the lawns, thus making it much easier for members, especially older members, to access and use the equipment. The Club is most grateful to Croquet England for its help in funding the project and thereby allowing members to con7nue to enjoy the game, take exercise and socialise. If any other clubs are hoping to do the same thing then we’d be pleased to help.

It is a significant milestone, par7cularly since it is also thirty years ago when Brodsworth Hall and Gardens were opened to the public by English Heritage. On 1st July we held a Fun Day to mark the occasion. Some games involved a variety of new techniques, not en7rely prac7cal, with some dice rolling and fearful forfeits. It was all in good fun, although, with all the different grouping, whooping and hooping going on, members of the public appeared to be quite bewildered. It was all followed by a bring‐and‐share summer feast and the sa7sfying feeling on the way home that the Club and English Heritage will hopefully con7nue to enjoy Brodsworth for the next thirty years.
