WHAT IS THE AYAH
The AYAH offers respite care, symptom management and end of life care to individuals aged 16-30 with life limiting illness. This specialised care extends to patients’ families, including bereavement support, counselling and accommodation.

AYAH FACILITY INFORMATION
The AYAH facilities include;
Eight bedrooms for patients, each with a hoist, ensuite and outdoor balcony Two carer lounges Two family accommodation units, each with two bedrooms On-site dedicated kitchen and dining room Breakout spaces including a lounge room, activity room, games room, media room, multisensory room, music room, quiet room and sitting rooms Laundry for families to use at any time Large communal balcony with views of Sydney Harbour Garden and landscaped areas including space for outdoor activities
Located on the North Head Headland, the facility is surrounded by National Parks, bush land and environmental conservation areas, providing a natural and peaceful setting for young people and their families.
AYAH’S MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAM
AYAH offers access to a number of multidisciplinary services. The week leading to admissions, patients will be sent a timetable of services that are available during their stay. Patients are encouraged to think about what services they would like to utilise and our team will do their best to accommodate each request.

AYAH Location
AYAH is surrounded by a number of beautiful sites, attractions, shopping precincts, art districts and more. Just at the bottom of Darley Rd there are a number of shops, cafes and more to enjoy. There are many suburbs within close proximity to Manly with sites to see including; Balgowlah, Fairlight, Manly Vale, Brookvale, Freshwater, Curl Curl, Dee Why and more.

LOCAL TRANSPORT OPTIONS
The Council runs the Hop, Skip & Jump community bus service through the suburbs of Manly, Fairlight, Balgowlah, Balgowlah Heights, Clontarf and Seaforth. Four routes operate Monday to Friday and three routes on weekends.
Hop Skip & Jump
A private and accessible service that operates 7 days a week from 6:15am until 9:25pm on weekdays and from 9:45am until 9:00pm on weekends and public holidays. 18 - 20 minutes from Manly to circular quay.
Manly Fast Ferry
The Manly Ferry is not only a great way to get to and from the city, it's also a unique and memorable experience. Visit Transport NSW for ferry information and timetables.

An NDIS approved transport option. Membership required.
Accessible taxi service working with 13cabs. Patients and families will need to book this themselves.

Please ask the friendly staff at AYAH for further transport support. We may be able to assist with alternative transport options.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIES
Stroll or wheelchair from Manly to Shelly beach. Flat and accessible with cafes along the way if you wish to stop. Look out for dolphins in the cove. The Boathouse at Shelly Beach is a great place for coffee.

Walk or wheelchair along Manly wharf and enjoy the many local sites. Watch the ferries, have a swim or check out the many cafes, restaurants and bars.

Enjoy the Manly Markets each weekend near the corso, a pedestrian mall in Manly. You can find more information, including regular stall holder details here.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS & ACTIVITIES
This route is not all wheelchair accessible, but might be a nice activity for siblings and families. It is a long walk to the Spit, however you might like to explore the route to Forty Baskets Beach. Enjoy the many beautiful secluded beaches along the way.

Manly Boatshed has recently been refurbished and is a beautiful location to relax in the sun. Chat to the Community Partnerships Manager if you would like to borrow one of their stand up paddle boards. They have kindly offered a free coffee to AYAH family members on arrival.
