APRIL 2023

KYREN PARIS READY TO TAKE BIG STEP FORWARD BY AARON CHERIS Kyren Paris got just a taste of

The power is a new asset to Paris’ game after hitting just four home runs over his first two professional seasons and break- ing out with 12 in 2022. He’s happy to see the hard work paying off. “I’ve worked hard to put on strength and it’s sharting to show,” he said. “Ev- erything I do on a daily basis with my routines has been showing up in games.” The Opening Weekend showing both on the field and in the stands has been inspiring for the 21-year-old, who had some kind words for the fans after the first weekend. “This is the best. We have the best fans in the nation.”

Double-A in 2022, joining the Trash Pandas in August for the stretch run ahead of the playoffs. He performed well, hitting .359 in 14 games with three home runs and eight RBI to end the season. Now, Paris knows this upcoming season is when he will need to improve his game to match the higher level of competition. Paris got off to a good start on Opening Weekend at Toyota Field, re- cording a hit in all three games while also hitting the team’s first home run of the season, a three-run blast in the first game of a twin bill on April 8.
