2025 9 Holer Booklet

RULES FOR 2025 WOMEN’S 9-HOLE SEASON

Handicap System An official handicap is established after a player posts six (6) 9-hole scores or three (3) 18-hole scores to their USGA GHIN profile. There is no 9-hole handicap. There is only an 18-hole handicap, which will be halved for 9-hole events.

If you do not have a handicap and would like to establish one, please contact a Professional Staff Member in the Golf Shop to be added to the GHIN system.

One of the goals of the 9-Hole group is to keep play moving at a steady pace to ensure everyone has an enjoyable round. For most events, you will pick up once you have reached your maximum score. Exceptions to this rule will be announced prior to the event.

Please note that the maximum score on any hole for a weekly tournament is 10. This is different than the maximum score for handicap posting (described below).

Maximum score for handicap posting is calculated as the par of the hole being played, + 2, + any handicap strokes received on that hole at 100% . There is no limit to how many holes this maximum score may be applied to. Example: If the player receives 2 handicap strokes on a par 4, they would have a maximum score of 8. The player adds 4 (par) + 2 + 2 (handicap strokes). Another example of how strokes are calculated: A player with a course handicap of 24 receives one stroke per hole on the first 18 handicap holes (listed on the scorecard as “Women’s Handicap”), plus a second handicap stroke on hole handicaps 1 to 6. That is because they are awarded strokes in the order of hole handicaps. For hole handicaps 1 to 18, followed by hole handicaps 1 to 6, for 24 total strokes. Lower hole handicap numbers generally equate to tougher holes. For this player with a handicap of 24, their maximum score is quadruple bogey (par + 2 + 2 handicap stroke) on holes with a hole handicap of 1 to 6. For hole handicaps 7 to 18, their maximum score is triple bogey (par + 2 + 1 handicap stroke).

TO ENSURE YOUR HANDICAP IS ACCURATE, ALWAYS POST YOUR SCORES AFTER COMPLETING A ROUND, NO MATTER HOW WELL OR POORLY YOU PLAYED.

When posting scores at the computer in the clubhouse, it will ask for hole-by-hole scores and automatically correct for your maximum score for each hole. The Golf Shop will post scores for the Wednesday events.
