In 1997, Embry-Riddle launched the nation’s first bachelor’s program in Science, Technology and Globalization. Since then, security and intelligence programs have grown in popularity and areas of study, which led to the 2014 founding of the College of Security and Intelligence. Due to continued growth and the addition of business programs, the college was renamed in 2021 as the College of Business, Security & Intelligence and remains the only college of its kind in the United States.

Steven R. Hooper served in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Secret Service for more than three decades before entering his role as Associate Professor at Embry-Riddle, where he shares his knowledge and expertise with students. In the FBI, Hooper was an Assistant Special Agent, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Phoenix Field Office and Chief of the Threat Monitoring Unit in the Counterterrorism Division. He led operations for counterintelligence and critical incident response, investigated violent crimes in Washington, D.C., and led a Russian task force that conducted espionage during the Cold War. The uniqueness of a degree in Global Security and Intelligence Studies immediately makes Embry‑Riddle College of Business, Security & Intelligence students competitive. Bachelor of Science in Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination The B.S. in Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination covers all areas of accounting with a focus on the major sections of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners’ certification: Financial Transactions and Fraud Schemes, Investigation and Fraud Prevention and Deterrence. Coursework also covers white-collar crime, interview techniques and tactics, personality and profiling, deception detection, criminal justice and cybersecurity studies. The curriculum is designed to help students meet the federal requirements listed by the FBI, CIA, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and other government agencies. Bachelor of Science in Global Business and Supply Chain Management The B.S. in Global Business and Supply Chain Management aims to develop student knowledge of the global context of business and critical skills in global logistics and supply chain management. Coursework includes project management, global sales management, risk management, air cargo management and supply chain issues on the global stage. Emphasis is placed on technological advancement, the interdisciplinary nature of supply chain management and the growing importance of the security of the supply chain. Students have the opportunity to pursue regional studies, language or study abroad options.

The B.S. in Aviation Business Administration covers relevant topics in business with a focus on airport and airline management, supply chain management and general management within the aviation and aerospace industry. Aviation Business Administration students select from concentrations in Management, Airport and Airline Management, Supply Chain Management in Aviation and Aerospace or Fixed-Wing Flight Operations.

The B.S. in Business Administration provides students with the skills and knowledge to seek career opportunities in business administration, management and finance. The Department of Cyber Intelligence and Security aims to develop students who are well-prepared for early success in their roles beyond higher education. Designed to prepare students to meet the evolving challenges faced by corporate, governmental and public organizations, curricula in Cyber Intelligence and Security programs promote the development of strong analytical, design and implementation skills. The B.S. in Cyber Intelligence and Security is one of few of its kind in the nation that is ABET-accredited and NSA CAE designated. Bachelor of Science in Global Security and Intelligence Studies The B.S. in Global Security and Intelligence Studies gives students a foundation in topics such as intelligence analysis and writing, security operations, investigations, interview techniques, foreign languages and more. Through hands-on, real-world projects, students learn how to protect facilities and assets, analyze intelligence, brief decision makers, manage emergencies and gain a deeper understanding of national and international issues.
Master of Science in Security and Intelligence Studies
The M.S. in Security and Intelligence Studies provides students and established professionals with knowledge and skills to help them excel in areas of intelligence analysis, security operations, regional military-political studies, criminal justice, law enforcement, corporate security and cyber intelligence and security. For many professionals currently working in security and intelligence communities, this degree can be seen as a necessary qualification for promotion to middle and upper levels of their organization.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROGRAMS
Gain a Global Perspective
Foreign Language Programs Embry-Riddle’s College of Business, Security & Intelligence offers a variety of foreign language offerings, with Mandarin Chinese, Modern Arabic, Russian and Spanish programs. Those enrolled in foreign language programs have the ability to study abroad and explore additional opportunities that promote cultural immersion and firsthand language experience. Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies Embry‑Riddle offers a four-semester course (12 credit hours) of Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), which is the language of all official forms of communication and media throughout the Arab world. Throughout the MSA course, students also gain information about Arabic culture, due to culture study integrated into the curriculum. Students have the opportunity to study abroad in an Arab country, where they may immerse themselves in the culture, learn and grow MSA knowledge and earn summer credits upon program completion. Students may also choose to expand upon this program with an additional six credit hours, which allows them to earn a minor in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies. Mandarin Chinese Embry‑Riddle offers a four-semester course (12 credit hours) of Mandarin Chinese, which is the language of all official forms of communication and media throughout Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Students may also choose to pursue a minor in Chinese, with an additional six credit hours. Credits from study abroad programs in Taiwan may be used to satisfy minor requirements. Students who choose the Chinese Track in the Bachelor of Science in Global Security and Intelligence Studies complete four years of Chinese study.
Project GO — Project Global Officer Program Since 2009, Embry-Riddle has offered the Project GO program for ROTC cadets wishing to develop their language skills and learn about other cultures. Project GO is an eight-week, intensive language and cultural immersion program available with a competitive admission process. Full scholarships are provided to all ROTC cadets who qualify to cover tuition, room and board, airfare and insurance for participating students. Program areas focus on a critical language, such as Mandarin Chinese. Project GO is an initiative sponsored by the Defense Language and National Security Education Office and administered by the Institute of International Education.
Spanish Embry‑Riddle offers a four-semester course (12 credit hours) of Spanish language. Courses include lessons on the history, culture and politics of countries where Spanish is spoken as the first language. There is also a Spanish minor of 18 credits, which students may choose to pursue with the addition of six credit hours. Russian Embry‑Riddle offers a four-semester course (12 credit hours) of Russian language. Upper-level Russian courses are also available, however there is no Russian minor option available at this time.

CYBER LAB
EAGLE EYE INTELLIGENCE
Defending Against Tomorrow’s Threats Often dubbed by students as the “Hacker Lab,” Embry-Riddle’s Cyber Lab offers 24 workstations where students gain hands-on experience and learn about how information and systems can be compromised, practice cyber defense techniques against real-world cyberattacks and hack to perform penetrative tests on computer operating systems and applications. Students in the Cyber Lab develop skills in identifying, assessing and mitigating real-world vulnerabilities. Students reverse engineer malware to understand how to defend against computer viruses and worms, learn how to perform forensic examinations of computer systems and identify hidden files to capture digital evidence. Students also engage in identification, collection and analysis of information for Open-Source Collection and Analysis (OSINT). Department-supported and faculty- mentored Cyber Clubs meet in the Cyber Lab to discuss cybersecurity challenges, practice for competitions, work on external projects or create their own research or investigations using various versions of Linux, open-source software tools and industry-standard access control and security software.
Providing Actionable Intelligence Founded in 2002 alongside the Global Security & Intelligence Studies program, Eagle Eye Intelligence members monitor, discuss and report on contemporary geopolitical issues. The student-led organization researches and reports on conflicts around the globe, continuously aiming to provide actionable intelligence and analysis. Eagle Eye Intelligence is driven by principles of continuous growth, non-partisanship, interdisciplinary perspectives, global awareness and professional development among members. In this organization, students gain real-world applicable experience and knowledge within the diverse fields of global security and intelligence while forming valuable connections with their peers and faculty alike. During the academic year, Eagle Eye Intelligence publishes its findings in weekly long-form intelligence articles. Crafting these articles allows members to enhance their written communication skills, refine their editing abilities, conduct rigorous analysis of geopolitical issues and prepare for their careers after graduation.
MAKERSPACE CYBER GYM
OPERATIONS CENTER GLOBAL SECURITY
A Dynamic Hub The Cyber Gym MakerSpace is a dynamic hub of creativity and innovation. It empowers students to explore their creativity and ingenuity through project-based learning. At the core of this lab is research and experimentation. Students in the lab have plentiful opportunities to develop their cyber skills through experiential learning and problem-solving. The lab promotes invention and ingenuity, allowing students to practice cybersecurity principles from both defensive and offensive perspectives. With an environment that provides the space, tools, resources and support for success, students who work in the Cyber Gym gain valuable capabilities that ensure success after graduation.
Solve. Defend. Protect. The Global Security Operations Center, housed in the Glen A. Doherty Center for Security and Intelligence, is a “situation room” where students run simulated conflict scenarios. The lab is designed for emergency management exercises and other simulations to allow students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managing and mitigating conflict situations. With three large-screen monitors and an array of 18 workstations, it provides a comprehensive space for strategic planning and analysis. The center is equipped with cameras and microphones for video teleconferencing, promoting effective communication in critical scenarios. Beyond assisting security and intelligence students in their studies, the center is utilized by Eagle Eye Intelligence, a student-led research and intelligence organization, to complete research and write insightful articles about international events or contemporary geopolitical issues.

Together, we are committed to helping you by providing you with financial aid counseling and resources that can help you with your college decisions. Types of Aid and Assistance Federal and State Grants These grants are available to U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are enrolled at least half time in a degree program. To remain eligible, you must make satisfactory academic progress and not be in default or owe a return repayment on a grant or loan. Institutional and Private Scholarships Like grants, scholarships do not have to be paid back.
