Gain a Global Perspective

Foreign Language Programs Embry-Riddle’s College of Business, Security & Intelligence offers a variety of foreign language offerings, with Mandarin Chinese, Modern Arabic, Russian and Spanish programs. Those enrolled in foreign language programs have the ability to study abroad and explore additional opportunities that promote cultural immersion and firsthand language experience. Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies Embry‑Riddle offers a four-semester course (12 credit hours) of Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), which is the language of all official forms of communication and media throughout the Arab world. Throughout the MSA course, students also gain information about Arabic culture, due to culture study integrated into the curriculum. Students have the opportunity to study abroad in an Arab country, where they may immerse themselves in the culture, learn and grow MSA knowledge and earn summer credits upon program completion. Students may also choose to expand upon this program with an additional six credit hours, which allows them to earn a minor in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies. Mandarin Chinese Embry‑Riddle offers a four-semester course (12 credit hours) of Mandarin Chinese, which is the language of all official forms of communication and media throughout Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Students may also choose to pursue a minor in Chinese, with an additional six credit hours. Credits from study abroad programs in Taiwan may be used to satisfy minor requirements. Students who choose the Chinese Track in the Bachelor of Science in Global Security and Intelligence Studies complete four years of Chinese study.
