MAKERSPACE CYBER GYM
OPERATIONS CENTER GLOBAL SECURITY
A Dynamic Hub The Cyber Gym MakerSpace is a dynamic hub of creativity and innovation. It empowers students to explore their creativity and ingenuity through project-based learning. At the core of this lab is research and experimentation. Students in the lab have plentiful opportunities to develop their cyber skills through experiential learning and problem-solving. The lab promotes invention and ingenuity, allowing students to practice cybersecurity principles from both defensive and offensive perspectives. With an environment that provides the space, tools, resources and support for success, students who work in the Cyber Gym gain valuable capabilities that ensure success after graduation.
Solve. Defend. Protect. The Global Security Operations Center, housed in the Glen A. Doherty Center for Security and Intelligence, is a “situation room” where students run simulated conflict scenarios. The lab is designed for emergency management exercises and other simulations to allow students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managing and mitigating conflict situations. With three large-screen monitors and an array of 18 workstations, it provides a comprehensive space for strategic planning and analysis. The center is equipped with cameras and microphones for video teleconferencing, promoting effective communication in critical scenarios. Beyond assisting security and intelligence students in their studies, the center is utilized by Eagle Eye Intelligence, a student-led research and intelligence organization, to complete research and write insightful articles about international events or contemporary geopolitical issues.
