Interview with a converted Muslim by Missionary Fred D. Acord o f the Sudan Interior Mission, who proves again that which the great missionary to the Arabs, Dr. Samuel M. Zwemer, said was true: “What God can do for any man He can do for every man." For safety reasons, the last name of the convert is not given. Q. What is your name? A. Dura Din I. meaning “ The sunrise of the light of religion.” Q. When and where were you born? A. 1938, in Tripoli, Lebanon. Q. Where, did you attend school and what progress in education did you make? A. I studied four years in Islamic University, A! Azhar, Cairo, graduating as an honor student with an M.A. my major was Islamic Law. Q. What did you do after graduation? A. I became a preaching sheikh of mosques in Beirut, Tripoli and Sidon and taught religion in secondary schools. I then taught Arabic and religion in Saudi Arabia; I was chairman of the Dept, of Arabic lan guage in Aden, Arabia; I also taught religion in Bahrein. 20
Q. Humanly speaking, what caused you to come to the Lord? A. The teaching and manifestation of love in Chris tianity. Q. Did you ever read the Bible before you were saved? A. Yes, I enjoyed the Psalms of David especially where he tells of taking refuge in God from his ene mies. Q. When did you come to Christ? A. It was a gradual process of being enlightened by the Holy Spirit but it was around April, 1968 that I came really to know Him, and was baptized in October, 1968. Q. What were the spiritual reasons that led you to Christ? A. There were three main ones. First, during the time I was serving the Muslim religion with its many duties, God put many difficulties in my way until I began to think that perhaps this was not the way He wanted me to serve Him. I asked Him if it were not, that He would please show me the right way. Second, I had recurring dreams that I was walking along a path which ended at a church. I kept asking THE KING'S BUSINESS
