My friend, there is little that you or I can do to change the over-all policy of any nation. We are responsible, however, for our own lives. You are responsible to God now and for eternity for the policy of your own soul. Knowing that peaceful co existence was impossible in the spiritual realm, “ God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that be lieveth on Him is not condemned: but he that believ eth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God” (John 3:16-21). Calvary: It is said that Napoleon, at the height of his military power, was looking at a map of the world with some of his military associates, and ex claimed: “ If it were not for that red spot, it would all be mine!” As he spoke, he put his finger on the spot where the British Isles were located. He sensed and afterwards realized the part those Isles were to play in his career and overthrow. Satan and his cohorts might be imagined as looking at the world in like manner, with Satan ex claiming, “ All would be mine if it were not for that red spot!" — pointing to Calvary. At The Cross of Christ, the Lord of Glory died rather than yield to sinful godlessness. As predicted, " . . . the seed of the woman [Jesus]" bruised "the serpent’s [Satan's] head.” Complete and final de struction of the Devil and sin is yet to come. But now the way is open for all repentant sinners to flee to the Rock of Ages for salvation. My friend, refuse to let sin rule your life. Do not believe the Devil’s lie of co-existence: that you can live in sin and still get to heaven! You were made for God and never will be supremely happy apart from Him. Not with sin, but with God, you can peacefully co-exist forever. May you trust Jesus now! I urge you to read your Bible every day, to trust the Saviour, sharing your faith with all with whom you come in contact, urging them to receive Christ as personal Lord and Saviour. ^g Mr. A. the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?" (I Peter 4:17). Years ago a Manifesto was published in California by the Committee of Christian Repudiation of Co- Existence stating: “ We the undersigned, ministers of the Gospel in the United States of America, do hereby respectfully record our unalterable opposition to what is called ‘co-existence’ — that the free world can peacefully co-exist with the Communist world. The living and true God, if honored, is able to deliver, in His providence, in innumerable ways without a general conflagration. To pursue a policy of co-exist ence confesses our unwillingness to let God help us. To act as a nation on principles which God Himself has repudiated, leaves us to our own miserable de struction." It is my observation that Americans do not want war. They, at the same time, refuse the Red-inspired peaceful, co-existence doctrine. While we desire the whole world to be democratic, we, perhaps, can tolerate Communism within the Soviet borders. What we object to is the Communist International— the aggressive spirit that seemingly will stop at nothing less than world revolution. I believe the future of Russia and its northern confederation is foretold graphically in Ezekiel’s prophecy, chapters 38 and 39. The late Syngman Rhee once said of the peaceful co-existence theory: “ We don’t talk about co-existing with cholera— that killing disease!” A divided Korea is longstanding evidence of the former president’s philosophy. A bleeding Viet Nam, leaning upon an American crutch, bitterly rejects co existence. Israel pleads for peaceful co-existence with neighbors unwilling to acknowledge their existence! Their borders can be preserved apparently only by military attacks. As a minister of the Gospel, I will not give priority to politics, domestic or foreign. My theme is the soul saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly” (Col. 3:16). Then why does it not possess all hearts? Because there is no peaceful co-existence of the sinful nature and the Word of God. As D. L. Moody said, “ Sin will keep you from the Bible or the Bible will keep you from sin." Co-existence in the heart of the sinner? "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon" (Matt. 6:24). Jesus emphatically stated: "He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad" (Matt. 12: 30). 28
