Stakeholders envision East Lancaster Avenue becoming a safe and pedestrian-oriented multimodal corridor that is as more of a place than just a highway. The envisioned improvements expand beyond the curb to include provisions for outdoor dining, designated space for deliveries and micromobility vehicles, public and private transit stations with ADA compliant level boarding platforms, pedestrian lighting, benches, shade trees, and other elements to enhance the overall experience along the corridor . Figure 66 provides a summary illustration of how the elements may be incorporated into the corridor in five (5) street zones: sidewalk zone, curb zone, parking zone, frontage zone, and median zone.
