P LACE T YPES

The place types were identified to represent the range of the types of development envisioned across the study area. The place types provide guidance on land use, building form, and density relative to transportation and context. They were assigned to each node based on future conditions anticipated in the study area. The place types built on those used in the Phase 1 Study with additional place types added to represent the full range of conditions anticipated, however, not all place types from Phase 1 were relevant to this phase. Regional Hub A Regional Hub denotes a major commercial and residential center, comparable to a downtown in terms of scale and density. It may be the home of a company headquarters or major shopping destination. Office and residential uses may be in the form of high-rise buildings.

Urban Center

Mixed-use center, oriented along major intersections and arterials, and at major destinations and amenities such as large parks, lakes and major transit stations, with high density urban living in the form of mid-rise buildings (up to eight stories proposed).
