Node 2: IH-30 and Cooks Lane/ Eastchase Parkway

Node 2 is located both north and south of IH-30 between the intersections of Cooks Lane to the west and Eastchase Parkway to the east. Both Cooks Lane and Eastchase Parkway have full interchanges with IH-30. In the future, there is a planned potential transfer station between the planned Route 89 Tech Based Rapid Transit route on Eastchase Parkway and the IH-30 Express Route.

Potential future street connections include two additional north-south crossings over IH-30 between Cooks Lane and Eastchase Parkway, the potential future extension of Anderson Boulevard west to Cooks Lane and potentially further west to Blue Carriage Lane N. John T. White Boulevard could potentially be extended east to W. Lamar Boulevard. It is envisioned that new developments would be served by a walkable and connected street grid. An infrastructure project would construct key sections of the future street network and streetscape to support new development. The catalytic project includes a new bridge over IH-30 to provide an additional connection across IH-30. The catalytic project consists of two, three-story mixed-use structures with ground floor retail and two floors of residential apartments above. See Figure 70 for the illustrative plan and Figure 71 for the catalytic concept rendering.
