Node 4: Oakland Boulevard & IH-30
Node 4 is located along IH-30 to the west of IH- 820. The intersection of Oakland and IH-30 is the start of one of the greenest stretches of the IH-30 corridor in the City of Fort Worth. With one
of the main access points into Gateway Park, and Tandy Hills Natural area and Oakland Lake Park nearby, this node has the opportunity for development that can take advantage of the views of the park and trail connections to the Trinity River Trails to the north and other parks to the south of IH-30. An infrastructure project would naturalize the creek adjacent to the east of Potter’s House Church site along Woodhaven Boulevard and provide a pedestrian trail along the creek. New streets would be built around the park. The public open space would support programmable activities and events. The catalytic project includes six, three to four story mixed-use structures with ground floor retail and residential apartments above (see Figure 74 and Figure 75).
