A form-based code is a land development regulation that addresses the relationship between building facades and the public realm including the form or mass of the building, scale and types of streets and blocks. Roadways are classified by their overall function in terms of how they move traffic between origins and destinations, and the level of access to adjacent land uses. Typical classifications include major arterials, minor arterials, collectors, highways, and local roads. Headway is the amount of time between transit vehicle arrivals at a stop on a particular transit route. Longer headways mean a longer wait time for passengers if they miss the previous transit vehicle. A headway is also referred to as transit service frequency. HIN refers to the roadways or streets that experience a high number of fatal and severe crashes. HCT refers to public transportation that moves a high volume of people with frequent service, few stops, and high-speed travel. HPALM refers to a geospatial representation that identifies areas with archaeological sites and assesses their potential vulnerability or risk in terms of development, construction, or other activities that may affect these archaeological resources.

A program by Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, intended to clean up the sites contaminated from industrial and municipal hazardous and industrial nonhazardous wastes.

A program to acknowledge an owner or operator if their property is contaminated as a result of a release or migration of contaminants from a source or sources not located on the property that occurred from other users. Land use plan refers to how land is currently used and how it should be used in the future. Population and economic trends help predict future needs for various land uses. LOS is a measurement of the traffic flow on roadways or road segments and intersections that considers vehicle speed, density, and congestion. Level of Service is indicated using letters A through F where A refers to the free flow of traffic and F refers to a breakdown of traffic flow. Individuals with Limited English Efficiency are those who do not speak English as their primary language and who have a limited ability to read, speak, write, or understand English. Local Road

Local roads provide access within residential areas and to collector streets.

A program created through the Tax Reform Act of 1986 that provides tax incentives for the acquisition, rehabilitation, or new construction of affordable rental housing for low-income households. A major arterial is designed for large volumes of traffic for longer-distance trips and has regional significance as they connect adjacent cities and prime activity spots. Major arterial roads are only accessed by other primary roadways and freeways. Due to the high speed and volume of traffic flow and limited local roadway connectivity, major arterials have a low level of land use access. A physical buffer that separates opposing lanes of traffic on a roadway. Medians may be vegetated, raised with curbs, and/or striped. A geographic area designated by the U.S. Census Bureau that has an urban area of at least 50,000 inhabitants. A MSA contains adjacent communities that have social and economic interaction with the core urban area.
