Intersections
Geometric configuration, limited sight distance, spacing, blind curves, and tree foliage growing over stop signs are just a few of the conditions at Eastside intersections that may lead to a higher number of crashes. The hotspot analysis shown in Figure 22, reveals several intersections that experience a higher frequency of crashes when compared to the overall study area. Of these, 187 crashes occurred at the intersection of Cooks Lane and Ederville Road, the most intense non-freeway crash hotspot in the study area. Other high crash intersections included Brentwood Stair Road and the IH-820 underpass, East Lancaster Avenue and Dottie Lynn Parkway, and East Lancaster Avenue and Beach Street.
