A SHORT INTRODUCTION TO RAUL OYUELA
Born in Argentina, studied photography, fine arts, printmaking, ceramics and journalism and other art and cultural topics, with a Ph.D Doctorate in Philosophy and Literature. He started to travel as a kid visiting, at today, 45 countries and living in 4: Argentina, Italy, Spain and, currently, in United States. He organizes cultural, artistic and gastronomic tours in America, Asia and Europe since 1968. He received the A.FIAP title from the FIAP for his long career in photography and audiovisual media. He obtained 85 awards in photography including the Gold Medal of the X Sao Paulo Biennial.
Currently he is the Director of the Museum of the Americas, located in Miami, Florida.

RAUL OYUELA
Born in Argentina, moved to Spain in 1978, to San Francisco, CA in 1983, Miami, FL in 1991 and Cypress, TX in 2006. He obtained his permanent residence in United States as a “Outstanding International Personality” and later, the American cit izenship.
Graduated in Philosophy and Literature (Ph.D.) in Argentina. He also studied fine arts, including painting and ceramics, photography, art history, music, print making and journalism in Argentina, Italy, Spain and United States. In Argentina, he founded the Photographic Section of the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires. Former Director of The San Francisco Museum of Hispanic Art, The Florida Museum of Hispanic and Latin American Art and the Latin American Art Museum. Currently director of the Museum of the Americas (Miami), non profit organization, he is an expert in non profit policies. He helped other non profit organizations in many ways. Involved in the fine arts for 50 years, he advised museums, galleries and art fairs as well as individual artists to get grants and scholarships. Juror of more than 300 international events. With more than 200 exhibitions as an artist photographer (group and individual) in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, United States, Dubai, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Austria, South Africa, India, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Romania, he obtained 85 national and international awards including the Gold Medal at the IX Sao Paulo (Brazil) Biennial as “Best color photography”. Since 1978, he participated frequently in American and European international art fairs in Holland, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Austria, China, Spain, United States, etc. He was a professional photographer starting his own studio in 1961 in Buenos Aires (Argentina). Later he founded his own advertising and marketing agency. He traveled America, Europe and part of Asia producing audiovisuals and films (commercials and artistic) including a series about great museums as well as the Louvre, Prado, National Gallery of Washington, Museum of Modern Art of Paris, Jeu de Paume (Museum of the Impressionists of Paris), etc. He produced audiovisuals for several airlines including SAS and Lufthansa and 12 TV programs in Miami for the WLRN Channel 36 Miami-Dade County Television, called “ Arte sin Barreras” (Art without borders).

Former President of the Argentine Photo Club and Vice President of the Argentine Photographic Federation, he obtained the tile of A.FIAP (Artist de la Fédération d’Art Photographique) in Switzerland in 1964. Recognized in his country of origin, Argentina, as one of the most remarkable artist photographers obtaining 85 national and international awards, he restarted his artistic activity with a series of digital photos in 2003 exhibiting at the Latin American Art Museum (Series: “Black Jazz”, celebrating the Black History Month in February 2003), in Barcelona, Spain in July 2003 and in Crisolart Galleries in Barcelona (Spain) and Copenhagen (Denmark). Starting in 2016, Dr. Oyuela organized several art exhibitions in important art museums in Italy and later 7 shows in Dubai at the prestigious Alliance Française. Juror of many national and international art events including the 2008 International Modern and Contemporary Biennial of the Latino Art Museum in Pomona, California and Member of the Admission Committee for the Manila International Art Fair in 2009. In 2009, he started to visit Dubai in order to promote artists during the Art Dubai international art fair. In 2011, he organized the first official trip to Dubai for the Museum of the Americas visiting the art fair and promoting hundreds of artists. The visits continued yearly. More tours have been organized since 2012 and the last one was in November 2021. In 2022, Dr. Oyuela traveled to Spain to attend the famous ARCO International Art Fair in Madrid and also Art Madrid and Art 360 where he established important connections for the Museum of the Americas.
