2020 Student Scholarship Donor Recognition

TALISA ENGLISH I am so grateful to have been a three-time KSU School of

Accountancy scholarship award winner. Because of the generosity of all of the donors, my financial burden to attend school has been significantly reduced. This has allowed me to have the opportunity to have many meaningful experiences such as an internship with a CPA firm. Thank you to all the donors for their generous gifts.

As I wrap up my last semester as an undergraduate, one of my biggest concerns going into the Master of Accounting Program is the amount it will cost for my family and me. When I entered college, my mother and father told me that their goal for me is to finish college with little to no student loan debt. My parents have paid for my undergraduate education completely out of pocket. Both of my parents work tirelessly at their respective jobs in order to make enough money to pay for my tuition without relying on loans, so receiving any amount of money from scholarships means a lot to me because it makes me feel as if I am lessening the financial pressure placed on them. That being said, I would like to say I appreciate all scholarship donors. I would like to emphasize that their donations mean a lot to not just me, but students everywhere.

I am incredibly grateful for my donor, and I am honored that they have chosen me to be the recipient of their donation. It has been my dream to further my education and pursue a Master’s Degree in Accounting. Being awarded this scholarship means a lot to me because it will help me move one step closer to achieving my career goals. Thank you so much!
