yet believing, we rejoice with joy un speakable and full of glory.” * If you praise God here. He will praise you hereafter. * * * GOD ANSW ERS PRAYER One of the sad things of our Chris tian life is that so seldom do we really patiently wait upon the Lord. Usually allegories are not appealing and yet for a graphic picture, ■a woman one night dreamed that she died and went to heaven. As an angel showed her about the celestial city, she was amazed to find a huge structure loaded with numerous sized bundles heaped high. Upon close inspection, she found her name on several of them. The angel kindly explained, “I see you can re member praying for these very things when you were on earth. When any of God’s children make requests, prep arations are immediately made for the answer. We’re told, however, to watch and see if the petitioner actually ex pects to receive these blessings from the Lord. Too often he doesn’t, so they’re stored up here as unclaimed blessings.” While this was only a dream, yet we can’t but wonder if it might not ac count for our failure to receive the an swer to our prayers. We ask half heartedly, believing th a t the Lord might do something. James tells us to “ask in faith, nothing wavering, for he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea, driven of the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord.” Remem ber, God wants to do for us that which is “exceeding abundantly above all that we could ask or think!” * The surest way to spoil your appetite for the good food of the Word is to eat the spoiled food of the world. * * * There isn't an arrow in the devil's quiver that hasn't been fired and failed. * * * It's unfortunate some people are like a balloon, full of wind and ready to blow up. * * * 31 * * * *

ly move against the howling winds and the snow making it almost impossible to see. He now knew why his parents didn’t want him to go out, and he began wondering if he’d make it safely. After the biggest struggle of his young life, he reached the front porch of his friend’s home. Looking back at the ter rifying storm, he saw the familiar form of a retreating figure, none other than his father. Every step of the storm he had been followed. What devotion was clearly shown and how this reminds of the way God watches over us! Even though we press impatiently for His permissive will, rather than desiring His directive guidance, He abides faithful. Do you want the Lord’s best for your life? Then follow the pathway He has appointed and not your own. As Scripture tells us, “He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.” * Treasure in heaven is laid up only as treasure on earth is laid down. * * * RELEVANCY OF CHRIST The cry today is for the “relevancy” of the spiritual life. Liberal theologians cast doubts in the minds of people sug gesting, “Why believe on Christ? He’s not someone we can actually see. He does not relate to our world.” How foolish are such declarations! Every day of our lives we trust ourselves into the hands of people, with the same frailties of the flesh as ours, many of whom we’ve never even seen. Recently I was crossing the United States at nearly the speed of sound. I got on the airplane, never having seen the pilot, never getting a glimpse of the area in which he worked, not knowing anything of his background, training, previous flight record, or his moral life. Yet I entrusted myself into his hands some 30,000 feet above the ground. Do you see the analogy? In the light of such things, how stupid proud man is to try to relegate the Lord to some one less than the natural. He is infinite, not affected by the sins of the flesh, One who divinely loves and cares for us, desiring to heap His mercy upon us. “Whom having not seen, we love; in whom, though now we see him not, * *
