Central Washington University Board of Trustees October 22, 2018 ACTION – Fiscal Year 2019 Athletic Budget Approval
In 2018, the legislature passed a measure to improve transparency in the funding of intercollegiate athletics at public baccalaureate institutions. SSB 6493 requires universities to approve athletic budgets in an open public meeting each year. Although the board approved the Athletics Budget within the context of the entire university budget in July, the the request for specific board approval of the Athletics budget places CWU in compliance with RCW. The table above shows total revenue and expenses associated with CWU athletics, including the tuition and fees generated by the student athletes.
