PAYROLL PETS
Modern life is incredibly busy. Combining work and home life can be a balancing act, and recently, we’ve all been exposed to considerable uncertainty. Pets can really help our mental well-being and help us find some solace and stability in difficult times. We asked you, the payroll professionals, to show us your pets.
Here are just a few of your wonderful furry and feathered friends...
Names: Ophelia Sent by: Tracy Jerram MCIPP, commercial director, Cox & Co Payroll Solutions Ltd “Meet Ophelia, the octopus. She’s the official payroll pet at Cox & Co Payroll Solutions Ltd. She was made especially for us and is an incredible companion to our team. If we’re feeling in need of someone to pick us up and give some comfort, she’s there with her eight arms to wrap around us – one for each member of our team. “Having such a cheery, vibrant and warm payroll pet really does help us get through a busy payroll day, because she never falters in her devotion and sits in the chair not moving all day.”
Name: Beauty Sent by: Helena Toczylowska, payroll and pensions co-ordinator, Greater Manchester Combined Authority “This is Beauty. She helps me to focus on the task at hand, and ensures I eat and sleep well. She’s also an excellent foot warmer.”
Name: Cinders Sent by: Viki Reid, payroll officer, Calico
“This is Cinders, she’s a calico cat and as I work for Calico, I just had to rescue her. She has lived on the street for five years and has now found a loving home. She just wants a place to sleep, eat and to have cuddles in. “She snuggles up up on my lap when I’m working from home and doesn’t move or attack the mouse like most cats do. Instead, she just sits and snuggles up to make us both feel safe and calm, especially when payroll deadlines are looming and lots of extra work comes in. The only time she gets up to mischief is when I’m having a cup of tea. She must get her head in the cup and share with me, as shown here.”
Names: Dougal Sent by: Amanda Jones MCIPP, payroll and transactional team manager, Civil Nuclear Constabulary “This is Dougal, my daughter’s fur baby. Dougal recently spent two weeks with Nanny (me), while my daughter enjoyed Bali.”
If you’ve submitted your payroll pet to us and they’re not included, you’ll see them in a future issue of Professional .
