2022 EXTENDED LEARNING FEATURING SUMMER

Discover new take-home packs, instructional programs, and digital solutions to spark student engagement all summer long.

The Resource That Extends Learning Beyond the Bell

More and more children are participating in programs outside of the classroom. Time spent learning after school, at home, or in summer school provides students with engaging opportunities that expand learning and develop new interests. Scholastic Education Solutions offers resources and programs that support student achievement outside of traditional learning time. Scholastic’s comprehensive offerings engage students in creative and enriching opportunities that extend learning and develop new interests.

Social-Emotional Learning Students exposed to programs that support social-emotional learning have healthier attitudes, behaviors, improved social and emotional skills, along with better academic outcomes (CASEL, n.d.). Social- emotional learning creates a “ready-to- learn” atmosphere for students to grow amongst each other.

Student Engagement Through take-home activities for children and resources for families, a village of engagement helps build the capacity of the entire school community. Student engagement leads to positive effects for the students as individuals, as well as on a wider scale in the summer class environment and at home.

Culturally Responsive Texts By fostering a classroom community that supports positive representation and equity, students of all backgrounds benefit from widening the scope of their world in books and beyond. Culturally responsive texts are books that connect cultures, languages, and life experiences with what students learn in school.

Backed by Research Students experienced positive academic and social-emotional impacts from summer learning opportunities.
