Donlin Gold along with Calista Corp. subsidiaries like the Brice companies are strong supporters of Excel and continues to use the pro- gram, with the training at Delta, in its recruitment of workers from the Yukon-Kuskokwim region. UAF has owned the Delta training facility and its camps for accommodation since 2016, with the facility operated by MAPTS. Interestingly, the uni- versity has a cooperative agreement with Yukon College in Whitehorse, Y.T. to use the Delta facili- ties its own programs to train workers for mines in Yukon Territory.

A mine tunnel, built by the mili- tary years ago, is equipped for training, and surface mine training is done at a nearby rock quarry. More
