Greens Creek Mine

SPECIAL TO THE ALASKA MINER Hecla Mining Company has re- ported that its Greens Creek Mine in Southeast Alaska produced 9.9 mil- lion ounces of silver in 2019. That represents a 24% increase over the 8 million ounces produced in 2018 and the highest since Hec- la bought Greens Creek I in 2008. Greens Creek also produced 56,624 ounces of gold in 2019, which rep- resents a 10% increase from 2018. The mine in Southeast Alaska also produces zinc and lead in sig- YTʭNLY_\`LY_T_TP^3PNWLL^LNZX - pany produced 117.7 million pounds of zinc and 48.4 million pounds of lead during 2019, most of it from Greens Creek. The Greens Creek mill operated at an average of 2,318 tons per day in 2019, the third straight year of re- cord production for the Greens Creek mill.
