Mining Education and Training Maintain a highly trained Alaskan work- force through support of all mining and geol- ogy related degree programs in the UA system, the UAF Mining and Geologic Engineering program, and vocational training programs like MAPTS. Maintain State of Alaska/industry part- nership to support Alaska Resource Educa- tion (ARE). Statewide Policy Impacts Support continued successful col- laboration between the State of Alaska and Province of British Columbia on responsi- ble resource development within the trans- boundary region. Promote a statewide Constitutional amendment to eliminate management of our natural resources by ballot initiative. Enact legislation to require disclosure bSPY Q`YO^ Q]ZX YZY[]Zʭ_ Z]RLYTeL_TZY^ L]P `^PO _Z LʬPN_ YL_`]LW ]P^Z`]NP [ZWTNd permitting, and litigation. Support legislation that would nullify a ballot initiative if the courts have found any segment of the initiative to be unconstitu- tional.
Land and Mineral Management Resolve and process the backlog of appeals at the Department of Natural Re- sources (DNR). Maintain and defend State sovereignty over navigable waters as granted at State- hood. Require a thorough evaluation of min- eral potential and access prior to any State land designations. >`[[Z]_^_L_PPʬZ]_^_ZNZWWPN_]P^Z`]NP data, such as airborne geophysical mapping as a means for increasing future state rev- enues. Pursue and defend guaranteed access for all uses across all state and federal lands within Alaska. Actively engage with the Department of the Interior and industry to ensure that neither the review process for placing tribal WLYO^TY_Z_]`^_YZ]_SPʭYLWOP^TRYL_TZYZQL parcel as trust land, results in any temporary or permanent restrictions on access to, and development of, resources on adjacent lands. Advocate for termination of the appli- cation of the Roadless Rule to the National Forests in Alaska. Pursue Secretarial Orders lifting ANC- SA § 17 (d)(1) and other Public Land Orders.
