Welcome to our 30th annual production sale. While the cattle industry has seen a lot of changes over the last 30 years our breeding philosophy remains the same. Homesteaded in 1882, the 4th, 5th & 6th gen- erations are active on the Kroupa Ranch. We know the importance of controlling the things we can and cull- ing rigorously for undesirable animals and focusing on traits such as maternal instinct, fertility, feet and udder quality, disposition, all while maintaining carcass qual- ity for our steers. Through management and time we feel we have main- tained our maternal qualities, and it has also allowed us to have steers that’ll finish weighing upwards of 1700#s and grade 100% choice or better. Many of the cow families backing these bulls have roamed Brule Coun- ty pastures since the 1950s and 60s. They’ve stood the test of time and have adapted remarkably. We believe in being slow and steady the course, not chasing fads or extremes. Our focus is on the principles that have gotten us here, 144 years on the Kroupa Ranch.
