Alaska Miners Association Convention 2018

Plan now for ’19 AMA Convention On these pages are just a few glimpses back at the 2018 convention. The convention’s week of seminars, speak- ers and programs covered the spectrum of opportunities and challenges facing Alaska miners. Our trade show was both sold out, and drew not just window shoppers, but busi- nesses making plans and financial commit- ments for more mining work in 2019. The popular Core Shack included updates and samples from 10 great projects poised to bring more mining jobs to Alaska. Alaska’s Washington delegation—Sens. Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan and Con- gressman Don Young all attended and spoke in support of Alaska resource development. Assistant Secretary of the Interior Joe Balash, who has played a key role in opening more opportunity for all Alaska resource de- velopment industries, reinforced the need for work to be done in the next two years of the Trump Administration. Thursday night’s award banquet and fund- raiser honored three great leaders in Alaska mining—Steve Teller, Ramona Monroe and Toni Logan Goodrich—as well as strong cor- porate member and leader JS Redpath Mining. All presentations from the 2018 convention are online at AlaskaMiners.org.

The 2019 Annual Convention will be November 3-9, 2019. Watch AlaskaMiners.org for updates on the 2019 Alaska Miner convention.
