out of Anchorage. Alaska Earth Sciences is provid- ing technical and logistical support for the field pro- grams, with many other Alaska businesses involved in supporting the project as it moves forward. Community Engagement Graphite One continues its efforts to keep commu- nities close to the project informed about the project. The company attends annual village meetings with Teller and Brevig Mission and hosted its Subsistence Advisory Committee (SAC), comprised of representa- tives from the closest Alaska Native Villages, for tours of the project and an annual meeting. The role of the SAC is to facilitate two-way communication to learn about the subsistence resources of the region and lo- cal input for development and operating concepts. Conclusion Graphite One’s large-flake graphite resource has the potential to create an important strategic asset for the United States by providing a key ingredient and domestic resource for a clean energy future and is a potential economic engine for the Seward Pen- insula and Alaska.
In addition to core drilling, preliminary evalua- tions of possible access routes were completed in- cluding field surveying and an aerial Lidar survey. Environmental baseline data collection included wa- ter quality sampling and anadromous fish surveys. The company also continued metallurgical testing and engineering for the process design. Plans/Expectations for 2019 In 2019, the company will update the project’s geologic model and resource estimates, and plans to continue mine design, process engineering, en- vironmental, socio-economic and financial analyses to complete a preliminary feasibility study. A 2019 field program is in the planning stage for addition- al drilling, engineering and environmental baseline data collection. Leadership and Staff In June 2018, Anthony Huston, President and CEO, announced that Stan Foo was appointed Chief Oper- ating Officer (COO) of the Company’s wholly-owned Alaskan subsidiary, Graphite One (Alaska) Inc.
