Sustainability Rankings People and Planet League and Sustainability Leadership Score Card. • Act as an intelligent client in relation to the delivery of sustainability operations and contracts – including ensuring that we achieve our targets around waste recycling reduction, sustainable food and biodiversity • Provide internal advice, expertise and consultancy on sustainability to other professional services areas as required • Support the development and execution of a new business travel policy, associated procurement and future of video conferencing work • Ensure the commissioning of regular travel surveys and establishment of annual active and sustainable commuting targets • Reduce vehicle emissions through the development and maintenance of progressive parking policies, employee and student active and sustainable travel offers • Work with key colleagues and partners to ensure that the correct sustainable transport infrastructure is in place to support the roll-out of ultra-low emission vehicles • Ensure a step change in recycling at Sussex – including the production of a new project waste policy, ensuring regular compositional analysis and audits are undertaken to recommend improvements in performance and lead on annual target setting for all our waste streams • Undertake additional work on taking forward the outputs of the big biodiversity conversation to achieve a sustained biodiversity net gain • Deputise for the Head of Sustainability as and when required. • Carry out any other duties that are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
